Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged his players to develop a ‘killer instinct’ in front of goal when they travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Sunday.
The Red Devils travel to the English capital on Sunday in search of a third successive victory in all competitions when they face West Ham United in the Premier League.
Teenage superstar Mason Greenwood’s second-half goal saw off Astana in the Europa League on Thursday and that was added upon from last weekend’s narrow 1-0 Premier League win over Leicester City.
Although United have looked a lot more secure at the back, Solskjaer’s men have failed to score more than a solitary goal in any of their previous five games since the 4-0 opening-weekend thumping against fierce rivals Chelsea.
English striker Marcus Rashford netted twice in that match but has only added a single successful spot-kick to his tally before he is set to play against Manuel Pellegrini’s team this weekend.
To address this issue, Solskjaer has stated that he wants his players to be a bit more clinical in front of goal, “Winning gives confidence and clean sheets give the defenders confidence and we just need to be more clinical in front of goal, we’re in good shape and we’ve prepared well for this game. We had one eye on Astana but the other eye was on West Ham so we should be ready for it.”
United will hope to earn three points at the London Stadium and try to inch their way to a top-four berth in the Premier League table during the early stages of the tournament.
