Goals from Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum would have made things worse for the visitor as they were rightly ruled out to save the United side from a big defeat on the road.
Marcus Rashford Well Missed
The Red Devils star was missing from the Anfield contest as he paid the price for featuring only 16 minutes against Wolves.
Solskjaer and his side would rue his absence as Marcus would have given the visitors some chance in the contest. His presence would have offered United the attacking threat going forward while also limiting the Liverpool threat on the front foot.
All this and more was the case as Rashford missed the intense game leading United into the transfer market for replacement at the moment.
Allison-Salah connection
This was the high point of the game as both players combined to seal the win for Liverpool.
While the Red Devils were nursing the hope for an equalizer, Brazilian goal keeper Allison floated a long ball for Mo-Salah in transition. Two United defender were behind him in the chase and as Salah has got pace and the finishing to combine, he did the rest for his sides sealing the win in a memorable fashion.
