United closing in on Sancho after a hot pursuit

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood have been exceptional for Manchester United post lockdown. The trio have goals flying in regularly, with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba pulling the strings behind them.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in pursuit of an attacking lineup that would match the attacking riches of the 1998/99 treble winning United team consisting of eminent strikers like Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham, and Ole himself. And who better than Jadon Sancho to bolster the attacking options of the Red Devils- The trio of Martial- Rashford- Sancho would arguably be the most attacking frontline in elite football and would be a treat to watch them play together.

Manchester United have been pursuing Sancho relentlessly amid stiff competition from Real Madrid and Chelsea, who are in the hunt to sign the talented Englishman. But it has been reported that the Red Devils and Dortmund are close to agreeing for a transfer fee of around £110 million. They have reportedly agreed personal terms with Jadon Sancho and it seems like the million dollar baby is eager to move to the Premier League again with a Red shirt waiting for him at Old Trafford.

United have agreed a five-year deal in principle with the winger and have made his signing their top priority in  the summer transfer window. This contract would pay him around £140,000 per week initially, but is bound to increase to £200,000 per week over the course of the deal based on his performance at Old Trafford.

After leaving Manchester City in the summer of 2017 due to a contract dispute, he joined German powerhouse Borussia Dortmund and has become one of the most dangerous attackers on the planet. Sancho hit 17 goals and provided 16 assists for BVB this season and was the top assister in the Bundesliga 18/19 season. He became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach 25 goals, which manifests his hunger for goals and accolades at a tender age of 20. The youngster has become more mature and his decisions in the final third have improved. His maturity has played a big part in his game; he knows how to time his runs perfectly in order to receive the ball and spots the space to make his run. The Englishman has a wide range of passes in his locker and is one of the most efficient passers in Europe. This starlet would create headlines for a long, long time and has a big future ahead of him.

The Red Devils’ manager believes that the English superstar would fit into his plans for a young vibrant team going into the future. To acquire funds to sign him from Dortmund, United midfielder Jesse Lingard could be on his way to Milan. Both AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in signing the midfielder, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.

Currently, Sancho stands third on the list of most valuable players in the world, with his value around a staggering £159 million. He is a potential Ballon d’or winner in the near future and splashing out £100 million on him would still be a bargain buy for the Red Devils.
