According to Portuguese publication O Jogo, Manchester United defender Alex Telles is reportedly prioritizing a return to Porto during the summer transfer window.
The Brazil international received less playing time with the Red Devils last season following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.
He is now set to prioritize a return to Portuguese side FC Porto. After falling out of favour at United and being loaned to Sevilla, Telles is reportedly keen on rejoining his former club, where he experienced significant success during his four-year tenure.
However, his potential transfer may hinge on Porto’s ability to offload either Zaidu Sanusi or Wendell to accommodate the 30-year-old defender.
Also on the other side of the story, it appears that the club intends to retain goalkeeper Diogo Costa for the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old recently signed a contract extension that includes a release clause of €75 million (£64 million), which has not been activated by any interested clubs.

While United has been monitoring Costa, they are reportedly hesitant and exploring alternative options. Porto is facing a financial deadline of June 30 and needs to generate €50 million (£43 million) to achieve a balanced financial situation.
However, they are reluctant to let Costa go for a reduced fee, indicating their intention to hold onto the talented goalkeeper.
United are expected to have a busy summer as they look to generate funds through player sales. Despite the potential takeover, manager Erik Ten Hag’s budget remains at £120 million, emphasizing the need to offload surplus players. Telles is one player who could be on his way out, with a transfer back to Porto likely at a reduced fee.
In addition to Telles, Eric Bailly, Anthony Elanga, Harry Maguire, and Fred are among the players who could be sold in the coming weeks to free up wages.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils may be forced to enter the market for a new goalkeeper. As per reports, David de Gea is reluctant to accept a pay cut this summer. De Gea’s contract expires at the end of June, and he has garnered interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
While United has been monitoring Costa, they are reportedly prioritizing the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
Onana’s agent recently had a direct meeting with United, and Inter is willing to sell the 27-year-old goalkeeper for €50 million (£43 million) plus add-ons.
