As stated by the Daily Mail, Andre Onana was spotted travelling to New York on Thursday after successfully completing his medical with Manchester United.
The club is on the verge of officially announcing the signing of the 27-year-old goalkeeper from Inter Milan for a transfer fee of £43 million. Onana is expected to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour.
United identified Onana as their top target to replace David de Gea, who recently ended his 12-year tenure at the club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.
Manager Erik ten Hag had reservations about De Gea’s suitability, which prompted the decision to seek a new goalkeeper as they prepare to compete for major silverware.
Onana is set to sign a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months, solidifying his place as the new goalkeeper for United.

Ten Hag identified Onana as their preferred choice to succeed De Gea as the goalkeeper. They struck an initial £43 million deal with Inter Milan for the shot-stopper, who arrived in Manchester on Tuesday for his medical.
Two days later, after seemingly completing the medical, Onana was spotted at Manchester airport, preparing to fly to New York to join the squad ahead of the official confirmation of his transfer.
If the announcement is made in time, Onana could potentially make his debut against Arsenal on Saturday in New Jersey and subsequently play in matches against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
United’s pursuit of the African star intensified after completing the £60 million signing of Mason Mount. Onana had previously played under manager Ten Hag during their time at Ajax, and the Dutch coach was keen on reuniting with the goalkeeper to address the weakness in ball distribution that David de Gea exhibited.

Since joining Inter Milan last season, Onana has made 41 appearances across all competitions, playing a key role in the team’s successful bids for the Copa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.
He also featured in the Champions League final, where Inter Milan lost 1-0 to Manchester City in June.
With the impending signing of Onana, United’s spending will surpass the £100 million mark, allowing them to shift their focus to securing a striker. Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund is the club’s primary target for that position.
