According to the Daily Express, Arsenal are ready to offer £40 million to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this January.
The Portuguese international has consistently produced at a high level while playing in the Premier League and has been linked with various bigger teams for a while.
Following Wolves’ disappointing start to the season, the Daily Express reports that Arsenal and Barcelona are both stepping up their pursuit of Neves.
It will be intriguing to see where Neves decides to play next since it has already been reported that the 25-year-old turned down bids from Manchester United and Liverpool.
Neves is a player that Wolves will undoubtedly try to keep from going to a Premier League opponent, which may work in Barcelona’s favour as they look for a long-term successor for Sergio Busquets.
During the summer, Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz were also linked with a move to Arsenal, but Neves would be a great addition to their midfield.

The Gunners would undoubtedly benefit if they were guaranteed a spot in the Champions League next season, since this is something that has undoubtedly held them back in the transfer market recently.
However, this would not affect United as they already have signed Casemiro last summer and would be targeting Frenkie de Jong next.
