Brighton are said to be eyeing up a move for Manchester United’s young full-back Brandon Williams this summer in order to line up a replacement for Marc Cucurella.
The Spanish wing-back Cucurella is subject to serious interest from the Premier League champions Manchester City who recently parted ways with Oleksandr Zinchenko with Arsenal snapping up the Ukraine international.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that Brighton boss Graham Potter is mulling over moving in for the 21-year-old United starlet Williams to add to his defensive ranks before the start of the new campaign.
Williams spent the 2021-22 season on loan at the then newly promoted Norwich City and following his return to the Old Trafford fold from his year-long stint at Carrow Road, the Scottish youngster faces an uncertain future following United signing Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.
Brighton are rumoured to have opened talks with the United camp over bringing in Williams this summer but Graham Potter’s side are likely to hold out stepping up their efforts until Cucurella makes his long-awaited move to the Etihad.
