Bruno Fernandes sends ‘angry’ Mason Mount transfer message

As stated by the Manchester Evening News, Bruno Fernandes has expressed his strong emotions in a welcoming message to Mason Mount, who has been announced as a new player for Manchester United.

After an impressive 18-year journey through Chelsea’s academy, the 24-year-old officially departed the club on Wednesday. Mount gained valuable experience during loan spells with Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County before making his breakthrough under the management of Frank Lampard in 2019.

He showcased his talent and was recognized with the Player of the Year award on two occasions. However, his prominence in the team seemed to diminish during the most recent season.

Mount’s recent season was challenging due to a combination of injuries and subpar performances from the entire team, leading to his inconsistent presence in the starting lineup.

Amidst these difficulties, there were ongoing concerns regarding his contract and potential future during the summer transfer window.

Initially, it appeared that an agreement for a contract extension was close to being completed at the end of the previous year. However, as time went on, the possibility of an extension gradually reduced, raising the likelihood of his departure from Chelsea.

Eventually, United pursued their interest in the summer and faced multiple rejections before finally reaching a deal with Chelsea, amounting to a transfer fee of up to £60 million.

Numerous fans have utilized social media platforms to extend their greetings to Mount following his arrival at Man United. One such person was Bruno Fernandes, who shared a post on his Instagram account.

In the post, Fernandes included pictures of himself and Mount engaging in a playful mock fight, accompanied by a caption that seemingly conveyed an “angry” tone mixed with a touch of humour.  The caption read: “Why did it take you so long to sign [angry emoji]? Welcome @masonmount.”

Instead of being opponents on the field, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes will now be teammates at United, as they will be playing alongside each other this season.

Even Lisandro Martinez was included in an altercation with Mount when the two sides met in a 1-1 draw in October.

The upcoming pre-season schedule includes a match against Chelsea, which is set to take place at Stamford Bridge in early April 2024.
