Frank Lampard and his side with the result still remain 4th place but are just three points above the Red Devils.

Two goals and one each half were enough to settle the match much to Chelsea’s disadvantage. On this note, we take a look at the three significant lessons we learned from the game.

Top Four Revival

Manchester United gave themselves breathing space with a resounding performance away at Stamford Bridge. This was the result of fans and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desired ahead of the match as Anthony Martial fired the visitors into the lead.

With this result, the Old Trafford side has revived their season dreams more as there Stadium or home ground is also known as the ‘theatre of Dreams’.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are just three behind Chelsea who is in the fourth position as pressure begins to mount on Chelsea with Mason Mount also playing his part in the game for Chelsea as well.

Martial Key For United

The French man was exceptional in the fixture more as his legendary compatriot Thierry Henry. He led the lines in aplomb as Chelsea have got no answer to his leader for the opening goal.

Martial has always found the net against Chelsea as he did score in the 4-0 resounding victory early in the season.

Despite the absence of the injured United marksman Marcus Rashford and the Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku, he flourished in the attack, making it difficult for the Chelsea defenders in the game. He will be key for United going forward in the season even as heparticulars with Daniel James in the Red Devils attack.

Ighalo Debuts For United

Following his move to Manchester United in January, it was widely expected for the experienced star to make his debut on the Manchester United Redshirt.

However, against Chelsea the wait was ended as fans (United) were curious to see the winter acquisition debut more like Bruno Fernandes have already integrated fully in the Manchester United team.

The long wait was over as Ighalo came on in the 90 minutes for goalscorer Anthony Martial with the latter receiving a series of applause from his performance in the game.

He had the chance to mark it with a goal but it was not to be as many ponder what might have been the case if it was Victor Osimhen that got the chance in such occasion and position in the game.
