Chris Smalling has rejuvenated his footballing career after a great loan spell with AS Roma in the Italian Serie-A. AS Roma and Smalling have been in touch with each other ever since his loan spell ended and the player wanted to go back to Italy. After months of negotiations, Chris Smalling has finally left for AS Roma on a permanent deal, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It had been earlier reported that Manchester United had rejected Roma’s bid for Smalling. But the Italian club and the player were both interested in a move to the Serie-A and even Solskjaer didn’t see Smalling in his future plans. But it was left till late for the Englishman’s move to Italia, which happened only one minute before the Italian transfer deadline.
It has now been reported that AS Roma have completed the signing of Chris Smalling on a permanent basis. It has been reported that Smalling has cost Roma about €15m with an additional €5m as add-ons. The former United captain was a great servant for Manchester United and surely deserved a move of his choice.
