As reported by The Metro, BBC pundit Chris Sutton has praised Mason Greenwood for his performance against Leeds United by calling him ‘incredibly exceptional’.
Mason Greenwood put in a brilliant performance against Leeds. He didn’t score a hattrick like Bruno Fernandes nor did he provided four assists like Paul Pogba but his gameplay and positioning were very sharp.
He scored one goal against Leeds United and it was his clever run down the flank that made him score after a beautiful Paul Pogba pass.
Chris Sutton believes that Mason Greenwood can lead Manchester United to glory this season and he is ready to lead the line.
He said: “Of course, there was Paul Pogba and his assists, but Mason Greenwood as a centre-forward… I thought that his performance was exceptional. When you actually look back at last season, it was a bit of a write-off for him. Maybe the center-forward position might be an issue, because of Cavani’s age and whether he will play enough of the games. But if Greenwood comes to the fore maybe, just maybe, they are in with a shout.”
Mason Greenwood played his full season in the year 2019, where he scored 19 goals and provided four assists in 49 appearances. However, his form dipped last season as he was able to score only 12 goals and provide six assists in 52 appearances.

Greenwood was again given the role of leading the attack against Leeds United and he made it count. In the absence of Edinson Cavani, it will be a perfect chance for the young English striker to stabilize his name in the starting XI.
