Manchester United has been really impressive this season and except for the Carabao Cup exit against City rivals in the semis of the competition, they have been consistent.
Eric Bailly has filled in whenever he has been asked to take up the spot and has impressed. His tackling and putting his body on the line shows his fierce commitment to the game and the club.
Even though he has put in some good performances and proved himself worthy from time to time his career at Manchester United has been marred by a looming injury crisis from time to time. This being said he has got some quality game time in.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer told MUTV “Eric will be available. It was just a little thing and I didn’t want to risk him, Victor [Lindelof] was ready, and we had cover on the bench. He’s fine no problem. I can’t say if he’s playing but he’ll be fit and available for selection for Wednesday.” Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has relied on the Ivorian from time to time and Bailly has always stepped up to the plate. He made key interceptions and tackles in all of his games and was a reliable cover for when Lindelof was out due to injury problems.
He has won a lot of praise and has commanded the game beautifully when called upon. Hopefully, we can see him keep away from injury issues so that he can have even more quality game time as it feels that his performances warrant some game time.
This switch could also help Manchester United to rotate the squad without having to put too much stress on some players and that is more important than ever this season.
