Diogo Dalot had a torrid 2019/20 season at Manchester United because of injuries and not getting chances on the pitch. It was earlier reported that the Portuguese right-back was linked to a move away from United but a deal hasn’t materialized yet. It is now being reported by the Express that Dalot is etching for a move away from Old Trafford but Solskjaer isn’t willing to let go of him.
The 21-year old was regarded as one of the brightest young stars when United signed him. But the right-back has found game-time hard to come by last season with the emergence of Wan-Bisakka. His injury woes also haven’t helped him as he was restricted to only 11 games last season and it has been reported that he wants an exit from United.
On his podcast, Duncan Castles said: “I can tell you that Dalot’s not happy with his situation at United and is keen to leave, however he doesn’t have permission from the club to leave. He also added, “You would think a loan deal would be a viable solution here, a loan with an option to buy in a year’s time, allow a player who was extremely highly-rated when he came to the club, picked out of Porto with a limited amount of experience because of the quality of his performances at Porto, (to leave).”
Manchester United have done very little business this summer and are still expected to make some signings before the window ends.
