De Gea aims to equal top earners

David De Gea, the messiah of United’s defence is yet to sign new contract for United. Manchester have failed to extend the contract of the Spaniard which clearly shows the keeper wanting an increase in his wage rate.

He truly is one of United’s undisputed player and has won numerous matches single-handedly. The 5 times best goalkeeper in the last 6 years as voted by PFA would want a sizable increase in his wages. With the increasing importance in United, the shot-stopper would surely want his share of return in the form of wages.

If De Gea does not agree new terms with the Red Devils, it would mean he is available for a overseas contract in January 2020. According to Daily Record, De Gea expects an increase in the wage rate with he being paid the same amount as the highest paid players of United viz. Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba. The figure would be around £275,000 a week. The story of, ‘I pay that huge amount for a striker but I don’t pay that for a keeper’, is old-fashioned now.

With a new record transfer of £71 of Kepa would surely mean that the Spain international would want a way more than this figure and considering his abilities and status in the team United would surely want to fulfill his demand unless they want to miss him.

It may be likely to see the goalkeeper being paid a higher wage than the Chelsea goalkeeper but what would be interesting to see is if he will be paid a record fee or not!
