As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest this summer.
The 26-year-old initially joined Steve Cooper’s team on loan last year, making the decision prior to Erik ten Hag’s appointment as United’s manager.
Henderson enjoyed a successful season with Forest until he suffered a thigh injury in mid-January, which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Recently, the United Academy graduate underwent surgery for the same injury, but he is expected to recover in time for pre-season training.

According to information shared by Romano on The United Stand, Henderson’s move to Nottingham Forest is progressing and nearing completion, indicating that the transfer is likely to be permanent.
He said:
“This is close [a move to Nottingham Forest]. This is something that has been discussed for two or three weeks between Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and the agents of the player.”
“The player wants to go. Manchester United want to accept that proposal, so I think this is just a matter of time to complete the final details and then Dean Henderson has a concrete chance to join Nottingham Forest.”
“I’m told it’s not done yet, but it could be done very, very soon. I think this is a good opportunity also for United to make some profit.”
Despite being highly regarded at United, Dean Henderson’s impatience has become apparent. While he had the opportunity to impress under Erik ten Hag, he chose to join Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.
Henderson’s comments suggest that a revival of his United career is unlikely expressing frustration at the prospect of spending an entire season on the bench behind David de Gea.

Consequently, a summer sale appears to be the right decision, although United should not allow his departure to occur at a discounted price.
Manchester Evening News recently reported that Forest could negotiate a deal amounting to £30 million. In our opinion, United should propose additional performance-based add-ons to ensure a fair agreement.
