Dean Henderson seals his Manchester United future

Lately, Dean Henderson had been a topic of great discussion amongst fans and the pundits with his arrival at Old Trafford. The Englishman was touted as United’s “Future No.1” and the successor of David De Gea following his great spell with Sheffield United. The club has now announced that Henderson has signed a new contract with United keeping him at Old Trafford for the next five years.

Dean Henderson’s future had been under much speculation due to the interests of some big clubs like Chelsea. But with this contract renewal, his stay at United has been assured and he will compete for the No.1 spot. The new contract is reported to bag him £120,000 per week, making him one of the highest-paid goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Though De Gea is expected to keep his place in between the sticks for United, Henderson will give him tough competition. The 23-year old has expressed his joy and has said “The goalkeeping department at United is excellent; there are three top-level goalkeepers who have achieved so much in the game and I look forward to working with the group.  The faith that the Manager and the club have shown in me with this contract means a lot to me and will continue my progression as a goalkeeper.”

The 23-year old has a great future ahead of him if he keeps his feet on the ground and eyes on the ball. Dean Henderson has all the abilities to be a United legend and he will be keen to become one!
