According to the Telegraph, negotiations between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest for Dean Henderson have become more complex following the departure of David De Gea.
De Gea recently announced his exit from the club after the expiration of his contract. United are nearing a deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, whom manager Erik ten Hag sees as his preferred choice in goal. However, the club seems to have a backup plan in case the move for Onana does not materialize.
Discussions between United and Forest regarding Henderson are still ongoing. However, Henderson is prepared to end his long-standing association with United during this summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper spent the previous season on loan at Forest, where he recorded six clean sheets in 18 Premier League matches before sustaining a thigh injury in January.

Currently, he is undergoing rehabilitation at United’s training facility as he approaches full fitness. As a result, he will not be joining the squad for their friendly match against Leeds United in Norway today.
Henderson’s departure from Old Trafford is likely dependent on the club’s ability to secure Onana as their goalkeeper.
While the Milan shot-stopper aligns well with Ten Hag’s preferred style of play, Henderson is also skilled in playing with the ball at his feet and would not struggle to perform effectively.

Henderson is assured of a starting position at Nottingham Forest, which explains his desire to leave United. However, nothing is certain at this stage, and the Red Devils are in no hurry to finalize a sale.
