Donny van de Beek has admitted that his future at Manchester United might be elsewhere, even after making an impressive return to the team following a six-month injury absence.
The 26-year-old midfielder scored a brilliant winning goal in United’s 1-0 victory over Lyon at Murrayfield.
It was his first appearance for the club since suffering a severe knee injury during the victory against Bournemouth at Old Trafford in January, which left him in tears and stretchered off the pitch.
However, manager Erik ten Hag is open to listening to offers for Van de Beek during the summer transfer window. The former Ajax midfielder could be available for around £20 million.
The former Ajax star has expressed his willingness to consider leaving Man United, only three years after his £40 million signing, in order to revive his career. However, he still holds hope of earning a spot back in Ten Hag’s plans.
As reported by the Athletic, the Dutch midfielder said:
“For now it is hard to say where my future is. Yes [he could stay], but it’s also a possibility that I move, so everything is open. I’m focussing on getting as fit as possible and pushing on.”
“In football, you never know, especially for me. I’ve been linked with so many clubs… but I’m not focusing on that. I’m proud to wear this shirt and I realise that every day. Let’s see what happens.”

Several Serie A clubs, including Inter, Roma, and Milan, have shown interest in Van de Beek, but he is not the first-choice target for any of them.
In the Premier League, Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Crystal Palace are closely monitoring the 26-year-old midfielder’s situation. Sevilla, Celtic and Nice also hold an interest in the midfielder.

A return to Ajax is not ruled out, and Feyenoord, the Dutch champions, are open to accommodating the player if the terms are right.
United are looking to sell players who are not part of their long-term first-team plans, and they would prefer a sale for Van de Beek. However, as of now, a loan move seems more likely for the midfielder.
Van de Beek also revealed his “high expectations” for Andre Onana, who is currently undergoing a medical ahead of a £47 million move to Old Trafford.
Van de Beek and Onana were former teammates at Ajax, and he seems eager to see the Cameroonian goalkeeper join him at United.
