Injury Update

Erik ten Hag confirms Casemiro will miss Man United’s game against Fulham

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that midfielder Casemiro suffered a fresh injury during the Carabao Cup fourth-round defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday.

Casemiro, who had returned from an ankle issue, was given the captain’s armband but was surprisingly substituted at half-time.

Ten Hag confirmed that the 31-year-old picked up an injury just before the interval, which led to his substitution. The fans won’t be happy to hear this news.

While talking to the club’s official website, the gaffer said:

“He was injured. Just before half-time, he got an injury. That’s why we had to take him off.”

Sofyan Amrabat has been playing as a defensive midfielder recently, but he’s still adjusting to the increased pace of English football.

Casemiro made his return to the team, but he suffered an injury before halftime, making him uncertain for the match against Fulham on Saturday.

While the €40 million-rated player hasn’t matched his debut season’s performance for United, he remains a regular starter. He’s United’s top scorer this season with four goals, but he’s been inconsistent defensively.

His potential absence would be a significant setback, especially considering United’s midfield struggles, and they face a tough match this weekend against an opponent with a strong midfielder in Joao Palhinha.
