Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is nearing a comeback to the first-team squad, having returned to training on Monday.
Diallo, who had a successful loan spell at Sunderland in the Championship last season with 14 goals and four assists, was expected to play a significant role for United this season.
However, his plans were disrupted by an ankle injury sustained during preseason.
Although the Red Devils initially indicated that the African winger would be sidelined for the early part of the season, his speedy return to training suggests a quicker recovery may be on the horizon.
Amad shared a positive update on his Instagram account. Despite arriving at United from Atalanta with high hopes a few years ago, he has yet to establish himself as a pivotal player in the first-team setup.
This preseason was supposed to provide him with an opportunity to do so, but an injury during the club’s summer tour in the United States derailed those plans.
Based on the recent update, Diallo has begun individual training sessions on the field, and it is expected that he will join team training in the upcoming weeks.
While he could offer strong competition to Antony on the right wing, United must be careful in light of his recent injury history.

In the upcoming year, United faces a significant decision regarding the youngster. If Erik ten Hag remains unconvinced about his capabilities, there’s a possibility that the club might opt for another temporary loan deal for the winger.
