According to the club’s official website, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his desire for Mason Mount to become a crucial player for the team following his transfer from Chelsea.
United have completed their first signing of the summer transfer window by acquiring Mount for a fee of £55 million, with an additional £5 million in potential add-ons.
The English international had attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, while Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea, was keen on retaining him at Stamford Bridge.
However, Ten Hag was determined to secure Mount’s services. He had been following Mount’s progress since his loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands when he was just 18 years old.
