Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is a fan of youngster Hannibal Mejbri and has decided to keep him at Old Trafford, as stated by the Manchester Evening News.
During the summer, the Tunisian starlet garnered attention from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund had been considering a €15 million transfer for the young midfielder. Despite this, United have no intention of allowing Mejbri to permanently depart from the club in the closing weeks of the transfer window.
The 20-year-old has made a positive impression on the club during the pre-season period. Hence, the gaffer wants to give him more chances in the upcoming season.
While a permanent departure is currently not on the table, the Red Devils might consider a loan arrangement if a suitable proposal is presented.

Man United possesses a considerable array of midfielders and intends to trim down their numbers. Donny van de Beek, Fred, and Scott McTominay have been associated with potential departures from Old Trafford this summer.
Mason Mount’s arrival has contributed to increased competition for the number eight position at the club.
Fiorentina’s midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is strongly linked to a transfer to United, with the Italian club setting a €30 million valuation for his move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Should Mejbri decide to stay with the Premier League giants, he might encounter difficulties in securing regular playing time.
It’s crucial for his ongoing progress that he maintains a consistent presence on the field, needing to be part of the starting lineup every week.
His attributes align well with Ten Hag’s preferences for midfielders. Mejbri, a product of United’s youth system, brings vigour and dynamism to the game.

He excels at intense pressing and has the potential to emerge as one of United’s future standout players.
Having enjoyed a successful loan spell with Birmingham City, featuring in 41 matches for the Championship club last year, his next logical step could involve a season-long loan stint in the Premier League.
However, United would need assurance from the prospective club regarding Mejbri’s assured game time in such an arrangement.
