According to a report by Foot Mercato, Everton have shown interest in acquiring Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga during the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Swedish star has struggled to secure regular playing time under manager Erik ten Hag, having started in just seven matches in the previous season.
United are said to be seeking a transfer fee in the range of €15-20 million for the player’s departure. Elanga initially made his debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but gained recognition during Ralf Rangnick’s time as manager.
In January, Everton expressed interest in signing Elanga, but the potential loan move was blocked by Ten Hag due to concerns about the atmosphere at Goodison Park.

Unfortunately, Elanga hasn’t made the desired progress under Ten Hag’s guidance. Although primarily a left winger, he has also played on the right flank and in a central role. At 21 years old, Elanga requires more stability and regular game time to further develop his skills.
Currently, he is lower in the pecking order compared to Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho. Given the competition for places at United, it would be in Elanga’s best interest to leave Old Trafford during the ongoing transfer window.
The attackers’ current contract is set to expire in June 2026. It is suggested that United should demand a fee of approximately €20 million from Everton for his transfer.
The Red Devils have faced challenges in offloading players at satisfactory prices, and they should aim to improve in that aspect during this transfer window.

Everton are seen as a potentially favourable destination for Elanga to revive his career. With experienced manager Sean Dyche at the helm, the team could benefit from his pace on counter-attacks.
Given Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s recent struggles with fitness, Elanga could provide cover for the English forward and add depth to Everton’s forward line.
