Haaland still on top of Solskjaer’s list of strikers

Manchester United’s search for a striker has finally ended with Edinson Cavani joining the club this summer. But still, the Red Devils boss isn’t happy with his striking department and wants to add an x-factor into the Manchester United squad. It is now being reported by The Athletic that Manchester United are still looking to sign Earling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, once his release clause is activated.

The Red Devils tried to sign Erling Haaland in January, earlier this year but failed to construct a deal for him. He had a release clause of about £20m which Ed Woodward failed to see as value for money. The striker instead moved to Borussia Dortmund and is banging goals left, right and centre for the German club.

It has been reported that Haaland is still the number one choice in the striker position for Solskjaer. The United boss has already managed him at Molde and was confident to have Haaland in January, till Woodward messed up the deal. The Norwegian striker has reportedly a release clause of about £60m in 2022, which the Red Devils will try to activate.

Manchester United have messed up too many deals for a lot of good players in the recent past, and if the club has ambition, it should sign top-notch players only.
