Manchester United have suffered another injury blow as midfielder Casemiro suffered an ankle injury during a recent World Cup qualifier, as reported by Globo Esporte.
Casemiro, who started for the Brazilian national team in their match against Venezuela, had to be substituted in the 79th minute due to an injury.
Unfortunately, Venezuela managed to score an equalizer after he left the field. Interim manager Fernando Diniz confirmed that the 31-year-old requested to be substituted because of the ankle injury.
According to Globo’s latest report, the midfielder twisted his ankle during the game but chose to play on until he was substituted in the second half.

As a result of the injury, the former Real Madrid ace’s ankle has become swollen, and he was unable to participate in Saturday’s training session. Today, he is set to undergo additional examinations to assess the extent of the issue.
This season, Casemiro’s performance in the Man United jersey has been inconsistent. However, he remains a crucial starter in all competitions under the management of Erik ten Hag.
The Brazilian midfielder has made significant defensive and attacking contributions since joining from Real Madrid, and his potential absence would be a huge setback.
In contrast to the previous season, the Red Devils now have a capable substitute in Sofyan Amrabat. However, it’s important to note that the Moroccan star brings a different style of play compared to Casemiro.

The South American is renowned for his strong tackling abilities, whereas Amrabat leans more towards possession control and doesn’t frequently participate in attacking play.
Despite not performing at his peak this season, Casemiro remains a world-class player. The fans will hope that the player makes a swift recovery from the swollen ankle injury.
