Manchester United FC shipped out Alexis Sanchez on-loan to Inter Milan at the beginning of the season. The Red Devils wanted to get rid of some of his huge salaries and didn’t see Sanchez in their long term plans as well. With already one short contract extension, now Inter are making a special request to keep the Chilean till the end of Europa League.
Alexis Sanchez has been a name that has caused massive outrage amongst United fans for all the wrong reasons. His ultra-high wages and low goalscoring and goal-involvement return have frustrated United fans as well as the board members. Even Solksjaer doesn’t find Sanchez to be part of his plans and will be happy to see him move on.
Sanchez’s career at Inter Milan has been plagued with injuries, but since the restart, he has been one of their best players. Since restart, Sanchez has been fantastic for the Italian club and has even been one of the best in Serie-A. For consecutive games now he has scored as well as assisted goals for Inter Milan, something he never did at Old Trafford.
Inter Milan and Manchester United agreed on a deal that would keep the Chilean in Italy till the end of the Serie-A season. But now, with his spectacular performances, the Nerrazuri are making a special request to keep Sanchez till the end of the Europa League next month. Inter are a direct rival for the Red Devils in the Europa League and might face them in the finals.
The Red Devils might be reluctant to accept this request from the board of Inter because of their Europa ambitions. But in the hindsight, they will also consider selling Sanchez permanently, and the Chilean would love to stay at Inter. Thus, this deal might make sense for all the parties involved that is, United, Inter and Sanchez as well.
The Red Devils are reportedly on the verge of selling six players to make money for their recruits. Sanchez is surely one of the six players United are looking to sell, and this might be the right moment. Only come summer we will know if United’s sorrows with Sanchez continue or if he comes back to haunt them.
