Leicester City’s star midfielder James Maddison is keen on moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window and has reportedly asked his agent to figure out the role that he needs to fulfill in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place on the Premier League table and are in dire need of reinforcements to get them back to the summit and rather where they belong. However, there are also rumors surrounding a few top players at the club who could Old Trafford this summer and French star Paul Pogba is one of them.
The talismanic Frenchman has been a key player for United and the Premier League giants will have to find a suitable replacement for the World Cup winning midfielder if he leaves the club. But there are a few players who have shown that they have the ability to fit the bill in order to replace Pogba if he leaves in the summer.
Leicester City playmaker James Maddison’s rise from the Championship to the Premier League has been an incredible journey as he managed to score and assist seven goals each in his debut season with the Foxes. With his mean set piece abilities and incision in the attacking third of the pitch, the 22 year old has attracted interest from the Red Devils.
On the transfer window podcast, host Ian McGerry said that Maddison has told his representatives that he wants them to speak to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer face to face in order to discuss what his role would be at United.
Mcgerry said, that Maddison spoke to his agents saying, ‘He basically spoke to his representatives that he wants to remain focused with England for the next few weeks for the European championships, however, please tell Manchester United that I would like to meet with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and see him face to face and ask him what my role would be, what my influence would be in terms of how much gametime I would have and where he would be playing me in terms of my position, as well as who I would be expect to be playing with”
