As reported by Sky Germany, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is aware of the interest from English giants Manchester United.
The Dutch right-back has made 68 appearances for the German side and has contributed with seven goals and 13 assists. The 21-year-old joined Leverkusen from Celtic in January 2021.
He started gaining attention from elite clubs due to his defensive performances for the German side. Frimpong’s current contract with the Bundesliga outfit is set to expire in 2025, which means that he will not be available for cheap.
The right-back is yet to make an appearance in the ongoing World Cup campaign with the Dutch side. But Louis Van Gaal may give him a chance to make an impression in the latter stages of the competition. United have earmarked Frimpong as an ideal competitor for Diogo Dalot. The Dutch star is being admired within the United camp and a move could be on the cards in the upcoming transfer window.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s chances of playing look minimal as the former Crystal Palace star has failed to make even a single appearance in the Premier League this season. Dalot has been the manager’s preferred full-back option and he justified his selection by displaying top-notch performances for the club.
Considering Wan-Bissaka’s current situation at the club, it is highly likely that the board will try to sign a new competitor for Dalot. This will help the manager in rotating his players ahead of a hectic Premier League schedule.
