Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with Diogo Dalot at AS Roma

As reported by Calciomercato, AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho and his team are keeping a close eye on Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot. They are studying the player’s progress and want to bring him on loan in the upcoming January transfer window.

Dalot joined Manchester United in 2018, and our former manager Jose Mourinho was hugely impressed by the player’s abilities. He also went on to say that the Portuguese defender is one of the future stars in the making.

But although Dalot’s international exposure has been increasing, he has been playing rarely for Manchester United. After the arrival of Alex Telles, his playing time has been seriously hampered.

Because of this unfortunate case, Diogo Dalot was loaned out by Solskjaer to AC Milan. He impressed with the Rossoneri, appearing 33 times and scoring two goals and providing three assists last season.

His progress impressed Solskjaer who brought him back to Old Trafford. AC Milan tried to re-sign him or have him on loan for this season, but the United management only wanted to sell the player as per their valuations. The move, therefore, failed to materialize.

Manchester United also tried to sign another right-back, Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid but were £10m short of their player’s valuation.

Jose Mourinho has demanded the club to try to sign Dalot for a one-year loan deal but the Portuguese right-back is currently in no rush to leave in the upcoming months.

Dalot was also given a chance to feature for Portugal last night against Ireland. He was selected ahead of the in-form Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo, and the United full-back didn’t fail to impress.

He made some important contributions at the death and kept the scoreline intact. His growth with the National team is increasing, however, with Man United, it is following a slow curve.

He is still determined to stay and fight for his place in the team.
