Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly close to securing a £36 million Manchester United transfer that would make him the first signing under the INEOS era.
An agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Bologna for Zirkzee, who had a £34 million release clause within his contract.
As opposed to an activation of the clause, whereby United would pay the full amount, this will be broken down over a period of three years for £36 million.
Zirkzee will supposedly enter into a five-year agreement, destined to end in 2029, with an option for another year at United.
Zirkzee will be permitted to head to the UK on Thursday evening before completing a medical on Friday.
The forward is well-timed, given Manchester United had wanted to sign a forward since Anthony Martial left at the end of his contract, leaving Rasmus Hojlund as their only recognized striker.
Zirkzee was busy because of his presence in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024, but with his side finally knocked out in the semi-final by England, attention turns toward what is in store next for Zirkzee at Manchester United.

He later wrote about the defeat in an Instagram story as a “big let down” and said that:
“A big let down last night.
It was a dream come true to be part of this team. I am appreciative and honored to wear this shirt. To all supporters of Orange, thank you for your incredible backing.”
Regarding Manchester United’s interest in Matthijs de Ligt, they are reportedly monitoring his situation.
Their primary focus, however, appears to be reuniting the former Ajax player with Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag commented on the club’s summer plans, stating,
“We are actively preparing behind the scenes with our scouting team and staff. Our strategy is well-defined and ready for implementation. I have confidence in the new ownership to expedite the process and introduce new frameworks effectively.”
Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United may turn into one of the major steps in the summer transfer strategy of the club.
He is reportedly going to be the first signing in the INEOS era, strengthening the attack of the United forces in the new season.
Further potential signings seem to be in line, and supporters of the club are going to be looking forward to some really exciting developments ahead in the coming weeks.
