As per Italian outlet Il Matino, Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae bid farewell to his teammates and collected jerseys as he prepared to potentially join Manchester United this summer.
The 26-year-old South Korean star completed his farewell lap with his family as he left Naples on Monday. Before his departure, Min-jae packed up his belongings and vacated his house. He will soon undergo mandatory military training in his home country, which will last for three weeks.
After completing his service, it is expected that he will join the Red Devils, who are prepared to activate his €60 million release clause and offer him an annual salary of around €7 million.
Min-jae is reportedly inclined to accept the offer from the Old Trafford club, and negotiations with his agent are ongoing.
However, United faces a time-sensitive situation to secure the ideal as the defender’s release clause activation period is set between July 1 and July 15.

However, the medical examination and contract signing will have to be postponed due to Min-jae’s 21-day military training commitment.
During this period, the Napoli player will focus on honing his combat skills and receiving medical training, including chemical, biological, and radiological aspects.
United manager Erik Ten Hag has expressed a strong interest in acquiring Min-jae as a key centre-back for his team. He has been recognized as the best defender of the season in Serie A.
The former Fenerbahce player’s impressive contributions helped his team secure the league title.
Min-jae showcased his abilities both defensively and offensively, scoring two goals and providing two assists in over 35 appearances for Napoli.
