Certain turnarounds arise when we expect them the least. Same has been the case of United’s left-back Luke Shaw.
The prospect of him staying looked impossible until last year, and now has Shaw signed a new five-year deal with Red Devils.
Shaw will be tied to United until June 2023.
Shaw has a whopping raise in his salary courtesy of his recent performances.
His fearsome tackles, incessant run through left-flank and timely blocks have certainly raised his value.
The Englishman will be paid £130,000 a week which can go as high as £160,000 together with bonuses.
Shutting all his critics about lack of commitment, unwary focus and a dreary footballing brain, Shaw has risen over his misfortune.
Not to discredit him, Shaw has put in his all once and all to try and put United in a winning position.
Shaw said,”If you looked at my situation in the last year or year and a bit you would have thought this could have kind of been impossible but I worked hard and wanted to make sure my future was here to help this club.
“The fans mean a lot to me. Even in the bad times that I’ve had when I’ve not been playing and there has maybe been bad performances, they’ve always stuck by me and believed in my ability so a massive thanks to them.”
Already fans favourite, Shaw will want to imprint his image in the generations to come.
