As reported by the Manchester Evening News, English full-back Luke Shaw has cheekily hinted that he has been trying to persuade Harry Kane and Declan Rice to join Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window.
Although United has not yet made significant moves in the current transfer window, they are expected to be active in the current market.
Manager Erik Ten Hag has already provided a lengthy list of the type of players he desires to bring to Old Trafford. The United left-back is making efforts to persuade Kane and Rice to join the club during the current international break.
Shaw’s actions indicate his admiration for Kane, as he shared pictures of himself alongside Kane and Rice at Carrington, United’s training base, with the caption “Carrington tour” and eye emojis.

"Yes, I was half joking. But it is a bit of both. I know they are both world-class players and I don’t know what is going on at their clubs but if it was down to me, I would take them in a heartbeat." @guardian_sport ✅ pic.twitter.com/oGoEEF4WTa

These moves align with Man United manager Ten Hag’s desire to sign a prominent striker and midfielder to strengthen the team’s attacking options.

Kane and Rice’s impressive performances for Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, and the England national team in recent seasons make them fitting candidates for these positions.
Shaw would certainly be interested in seeing these two-star players join United, but it seems unlikely that deals for both players will materialize at this stage.
The Red Devils have already given up on pursuing Kane due to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s demands. However, Rice might be more within reach.
West Ham owner David Sullivan has stated that the defensive midfielder will be allowed to leave the club if a suitable offer is made.
There is significant competition for the midfielder’s signature, with Arsenal expressing long-term interest and having a bid rejected.
The Gunners are expected to return with an improved offer, but other Premier League rivals, including Manchester City, could also enter into negotiations.

Regardless of a potential takeover, United’s spending this summer is expected to be limited. It is unlikely that they will pursue expensive deals for Rice and Kane, especially when there are other areas of the team that need strengthening.
