According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are reportedly prepared to make a players-plus-cash offer for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
The proposed deal would include £40 million in cash along with the inclusion of Harry Maguire and Anthony Elanga as part of the offer to sign Rice.
Arsenal has made two unsuccessful bids for the Hammer’s captain, with their latest offer amounting to £90 million including add-ons spread over five years.
However, Manchester City has also entered the race for the midfielder following Ilkay Gundogan’s move to Barcelona. Arsenal sees Rice as their top target but has yet to reach an agreement with West Ham regarding the transfer fee.

Given the situation, Man United could take advantage and attempt to disrupt the deal. Both Maguire and Elanga are deemed surplus to requirements under Ten Hag’s management.
The English center-back’s playing style does not align with Ten Hag’s preferred approach, while Elanga had limited playing time in the previous season.
It appears highly unlikely that Rice will join United, despite the desire of the club’s supporters. West Ham has set a price tag of £100 million for their prized player.
United’s main focus is on securing the services of a top-tier striker, a move that is expected to require a significant financial investment.
Additionally, there are indications that Mason Mount is on the verge of signing for United in a deal valued at around £50-60 million. Given the need to also acquire a goalkeeper, United cannot spend substantial funds towards another midfielder.
