Darren Fletcher’s role at Manchester United is about to change because of INEOS’ reorganization efforts. His position currently will be changed so it can be aligned better with his true responsibilities within the club.
The new minority owners at the club are focused to improve the non-playing aspects at Old Trafford. Omar Berrada has joined the as CEO from Manchester City and he will be leading all the improvements from now on.
INEOS have reportedly reached an agreement with Newcastle United to bring in Dan Ashworth as the new sporting director for Manchester United. However, the compensation package is not yet settled with the Magpies to confirm this acquisition.
Also, the search for a new performance director is ongoing with Jason Wilcox from Southampton being the frontrunner to look after the academy and other non-recruiting facets at the club.
John Murtough’s role as football director of the club may undergo changes because of the revamp that is going on, and there are high chances that he may not continue in his current position or be reassigned within the club or be retained by the club at all.

The Telegraph claims that although there is a willingness to keep Darren Fletcher at the club, his future is also uncertain.
The role of the former Scotland International and Manchester United legend seems to be similar to that of Ashworth, Freedman and Wilcox, who also serve in as technical-director capabilities at the club.
It seems that Fletcher’s current job title may not precisely represent his responsibilities or expertise within the organization. To maintain transparency and ensure a proper a distribution of roles, they will likely reassign him to a position that better reflects his skills and contributions and there are very less chances that he will be let go by the club.
Ever since the arrival of the current manager Erik ten Hag at the club couple of years ago, the 40 year old has worked with him closely and has formed a strong partnership also he has developed a close working relationship with him, contributing to Manchester United’s progress and success since the arrival of manager two years ago.
