Fabrizio Romano On Jason Wilcox

Jason Wilcox had prior left his role at the Etihad Stadium in 2023 to take a far more senior and responsible role at Southampton after having helped players like Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Rico Lewis who made their first team debuts for Cityzens.

Man Utd made an offer worth the equivalent of a year’s salary, according to Sky Sports, and believe that will meet a buy-out clause in his current contract.

Southampton, however, have disputed the existence of such a clause and are unhappy with the timing of the approach. They were swift in rejecting this offer.

This got Jason Wilcox unhappy because he was hopeful that Southampton would accept this compensation package offered by Manchester United to secure his services.
