According to the Sun, there is a division within Manchester United’s management regarding the potential signing of striker target Goncalo Ramos.
Manager Erik ten Hag is keen to bolster the team’s striking options, and the 21-year-old has emerged as a potential candidate. However, opinions among the United board members are divided on whether Ramos is the right choice for the club.
Benfica has granted super-agent Jorge Mendes permission to facilitate the sale of Ramos, who has garnered significant interest after his impressive performance in the World Cup, including a hat-trick against Switzerland.
Despite being given the go-ahead to negotiate, the £100m price tag attached to the striker could pose a challenge in potential talks, limiting Man United’s ability to make other significant signings in the upcoming months.

Ramos’s lack of experience at the top level of football may hinder United’s pursuit of him this summer. Although Ten Hag is keen to sign him, the board are still unsure whether the Portuguese could justify the price tag through his performances.
While Ramos has shown immense potential and had an impressive season with Benfica, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in 47 appearances, there are concerns about his ability to adapt to the intensity of the English Premier league.
