Manchester United Boss Erik Ten Hag Believes He Has The Same Ambition As Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that the same ambition is shared between him and new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Earlier this week, INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his partial takeover of United by acquiring a 27.7% stake for £1.3 billion of the English club.

The British billionaire is now working to form a strong core team to help the club rise to the top of English and World football. There are doubts arising whether the minority owner will retain coach Ten Hag next season.

The pressure on the former Ajax manager has increased this season following the Red Devil disappointing exit from the Champions’ League group stage.

And now they are facing even more pressure to enter the top four of the Premier League table. Despite these setbacks, the gaffer expresses confidence in his ability to deliver for the club.

In his latest pre-match press conference, he stated that he had a lot of conversations with the Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford.

The Dutchman also highlighted the point that he shares a common ambition with the billionaire and that works well for the club.

As quoted by the club’s official website, Ten Hag said:

“We speak a lot and I have had many conversations with him and Dave Brailsford about this club and about the team and structures. We are very aligned, and I am behind their ambitions. I think it totally fits with the ambitions I have and with the ones I had when I came in.”

When asked whether he feels the pressure about the entry of a new owner, Ten Hag confidently said that he is team is progressing now.

He would be hopefully that the British billionaire and a boyhood United fan will add great value to the club and help the manager sign quality players this summer.

A rebuild is needed and the club needs to move in a right direction in order to avoid falling into the same trap again. There is a lot of work of work to do behind the scenes.

From acquiring talented individuals off the field, the management also needs to keep an eye on the club’s ageing infrastructure and an injury prone squad.
