Injury Update

Manchester United confirm double injury boost ahead of Sheffield United clash

As stated by the club’s official website, Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon participated in yesterday’s training session for Manchester United as they gear up for their upcoming Premier League match against Sheffield United on Saturday.

The Red Devils’ new Premier League season hasn’t started off well, as they currently have 12 points from eight matches. Manager Erik ten Hag is looking for significant improvement in the team’s performance.

The Old Trafford side has received positive news with both Amrabat and Reguilon joining the training. While the former played for 87 minutes in the 2-1 victory against Brentford, he missed Morocco’s international matches during the break due to a minor back issue.

The 27-year-old player has successfully recovered and is now back in training. He is now joined by Reguilon, who last played in the 1-0 victory against Burnley at the end of September, with Amrabat coming in as his replacement during that match.

The Spanish star had suffered a hamstring injury during the final moments of the game at Turf Moor.

Fortunately, he has made a full recovery from this setback and is expected to be ready for a starting position in the upcoming match against Sheffield United.

While United have received positive updates about two players, they’ve also encountered a setback. Casemiro will not be available for the upcoming match against Sheffield United due to an ankle injury he sustained while on international duty with Brazil.

Casemiro’s ankle swelled considerably after a match against Venezuela, but he surprisingly returned to the lineup for their game against Uruguay, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for Brazil.

However, United have now disclosed that, based on the club’s advice, Casemiro will remain in Brazil for a few days. He is expected to rejoin the team for training early next week and might be available for the match against Copenhagen.

With the defensive midfielder absent, it’s likely that Amrabat will take on the role of the number six in his preferred position.

Additionally, Reguilon’s return provides Manager Ten Hag with a specialist left-back to call upon for duty.
