Manchester United has confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Antony from Ajax for a record fee.
If the medical and the personal conditions agreement don’t fall through at the last minute, the 22-year-old’s move to Old Trafford will be practically complete.
As confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account, the Eredivisie champions will receive a huge fee from United of approximately €100 million, including add-ons. It would be the highest bid ever received by the Dutch side. With the agreed-upon price, United will have spent almost €200 million this summer.

Erik ten Hag has been eager to strengthen his forward line, especially in light of Anthony Martial’s Achilles injury. Due to a hamstring injury received during the preseason, the France international missed the first two games of the season and again he will be sidelined.
Following the signings of Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Casemiro, Antony will be United’s fifth summer addition. The Brazilian winger, who has nine caps, scored 12 goals in 33 outings for Ajax last year.
The winger spent two years under head coach Erik ten Hag’s guidance after moving to Amsterdam from So Paolo for a fee of around €16 million.
While United was still in negotiations with the Dutch champions, the Brazilian star was left out of the Ajax team for their 1-0 victory over Sparta Rotterdam last weekend and did not play against Utrecht on Sunday.
