Manchester United FC had been reportedly looking for a midfielder at the beginning of the summer to bolster their squad. The Red Devils have signed Donny Van de Beek from Ajax and it seemed that their search for a midfielder was over then. But it is now being reported by The Mirror that the Red Devils have shifted their attention on signing N’Golo Kante from Chelsea.
Earlier it was reported about United’s interests in Kante this summer, but a move never materialized. Solskjaer instead went for a much younger and cheaper option, in Donny Van de Beek from Ajax. Kante is 29-years old, which doesn’t match Ole’s vision of age profile he wants his players to be in.
It is again being reported that United have rekindled their interests in Kante and want to sign him this summer as Chelsea want to cash-in on the Frenchman. The midfielder has played well lately but last season he was injured a lot and missed most of the season. United should be wary of such a deal, even though Kante is a good player, he is moving towards the twilight of his career.
With only a week left in the transfer market, United should concentrate on the signing of Telles and Jadon Sancho.
