Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick wants to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Christopher Nkunku this summer.
The 24-year-old has had some fantastic seasons in the Bundesliga and is in top form right now, with 19 goals and 13 assists in 31 games for Leipzig in all competitions so far.
While France manager Didier Deschamps has been slow to notice Nkunku’s form, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal have all been keeping a close eye on him.
As reported by ESPN, Manchester United has now been added to the list of potential suitors for the French attacker.
The Red Devils are said to have been uninterested in Christopher Nkunku last season, but Ralf Rangnick has turned the tables since arriving at Old Trafford in December, and club officials have now started paying attention to the player.
Rangnick, who signed Nkunku for Leipzig in 2019, sees the former Paris Saint-Germain star as an exceptional goalscoring playmaker who can shine in a variety of positions.
As United prepares for the departure of Paul Pogba when his contract ends in the summer, midfield additions will certainly be prioritized, and Christopher Nkunku is now a genuine option for the club.
Leipzig is well aware of the high level of interest in Nkunku, whose contract extends until 2024, and has already informed potential suitors that they will not sell.
It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds in the upcoming months.
