Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez during the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, the English club will likely have to pay a huge fee to secure the player’s services. The French defender has amassed 167 appearances for AC Milan since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2019.
The recent departure of AC Milan’s club director Paolo Maldini has fueled speculation about Hernandez potentially leaving the Italian club.
According to Calciomercato Man United is being considered as a potential destination for the AC Milan star. However, if United wishes to assign him, they would need to pay a minimum of €60 million (£51.35 million).
Hernandez recently extended his contract with AC Milan in February, resulting in a significant increase in his wages. His contract now binds him to the Italian club until the summer of 2026.

United may face competition from their local rivals Manchester City, as well as top clubs in La Liga who may attempt to bring Hernandez back to Spain, where he began his professional career.
During his youth days, Hernandez was linked with Rayo Majadahonda and Atletico Madrid, although he was unable to progress beyond Atletico’s B team. However, he did spend a season on loan at Alaves.
The full-back had stints at Real Madrid and a loan spell at Real Sociedad before joining AC Milan. While he has enjoyed success in Italy, winning the Serie A title in 2022, the recent departure of Paolo Maldini has caused unrest within Milan’s squad.
The 25-year-old is among a group of players, including goalkeeper Mike Maignan and midfielder Sandro Tonali, who are reportedly unhappy with Maldini’s dismissal.
AC Milan finished in fourth place in Serie A last season, with Napoli claiming the title, marking a shift from the previous year when Hernandez’s team secured the title.
