As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester United owners are planning to modernize the Old Trafford stadium after a huge backlash from the fans over the lack of improvement over the past few years.
It could an expensive investment but is required to create a more advanced infrastructure while preserving the heritage of the stadium. Many Premier League clubs have begun investing in their training ground and stadium facilities and Man United is one of the richest clubs in the world needs to take their step as well.
There are many issues along the way as United first needs to improve the ageing South Stand.
The changes will be complicated due to the fact that the adjacent railway line near the stadium is being a hindrance. United fans have been crying for an improvement but last season, the United hierarchy had already invested nearly £20m on the training grounds and other infrastructure.
Proper investment and an important upgrade are required so that the fans can comfortably watch the match from the stands. Manchester United has already invested in a rich squad and brought in world-class players and good infrastructure will be like the icing on the cake.
As Covid-19 created a loss of ticket sales, such changes will bring in a considerable increase in the number of visitors and will boost the club’s income.
