Manchester United FC have reportedly hit a rock in the pursuit of their transfer target Jadon Sancho from Borrusia Dortmund. Dortmund are hell-bent to get more than £100m for their talisman and United think it is way too much in the pandemic scenario. Looking at the elongated saga, United are looking are some alternatives and might be enticed to hijack Havertz’s move to Chelsea.
Kai Havertz is almost certain of a move to Chelsea after reports came of him agreeing on personal terms with the London club. But the Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils might try and hijack Chelsea’s deal if United don’t find a way to sign Sancho. United have hit rock bottom in their pursuit of Sancho after Dortmund’s Sporting Director said that the Englishman was staying in Germany.
The Red Devils have earlier scouted Havertz and were thinking about signing him, but prioritized Sancho over Havertz. Bayer Leverkusen value Havertz at about £80m, which is about £20m less than what Dortmund are asking for Jadon Sancho. It is highly unlikely of United to hijack Havertz’s move to Chelsea the club could still try if they fail in Sancho’s pursuit.
With less than a couple of months to go for the transfer window to close, United need to quicken things up to get some signings.
