Manchester United Players may cut their holidays

Professional Footballers Association entitles all players to have a break of of five weeks in a year which includes a break span of three consecutive weeks. After the world cup, all the players were to take a break a break of at least three weeks. But it seems that the club duty has made players to be in breach of their own contracts; returning to the club before the assigned holidays.

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones are going to join the team on August 1, with a break of just two-and-a-half weeks after their return to home on July 15.

With the return of both, Rashford and Jones, it is noted that Jose Mourinho has called the rest of Manchester’s squad that were involved in latter stage of the world cup to come back early and help the team. The manager publicly announced that Lukaku, Pogba and Lingard to come back sooner then their contract date.

The world football players union FIFPro has expressed their worry on the lesser number of holiday that may deteriorate the health of the players as many of them were not enjoying the off season break. Apart from the two Manchester players, 13 other players have not taken a considerable amount of break that they are supposed to. The health of these players is being put at risk with the need to fulfill the financial implications of UEFA tournaments. Understanding this concern, FIFPro is trying to make a permanent four week break for the players.

“Players are coming under too much pressure, caught between the needs of their clubs and their own personal well-being,” the union said in a statement.
