Manchester United are planning an unexpected move for Everton star centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, as per the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils have already made acquisitions in the form of Mason Mount and Andre Onana to strengthen their midfield and goalkeeper departments for the upcoming season.
United are finalizing a deal with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund, who is expected to be an upgrade in the number nine role over Anthony Martial.
While recent reports have linked the club with a move for a defensive midfielder, there are also suggestions of potential interest in signing a centre-back.
Surprisingly, United have expressed interest in Everton’s Branthwaite, as the 21-year-old impressed scouts during his season-long loan at PSV Eindhoven.
