Manchester United raise their verbal bid for Inter Milan star Andre Onana

Reputed journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Manchester United have raised its verbal offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Onana is the primary target for the Red Devils in their pursuit of a new goalkeeper, and negotiations are presently underway with Inter Milan regarding the transfer fee.

Man United were initially prepared to offer €40 million for Onana, but they have now increased their package to €45 million. However, an agreement have not yet been reached as Inter Milan are demanding €60 million for the goalkeeper’s transfer.

While the Red Devils have announced the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea, they are still in need of at least one more addition before the pre-season tour commences.

Onana remains the primary target for United, and negotiations with Inter Milan are ongoing. However, the Serie A club is hesitant to lower their asking price.

Although United have not yet submitted an official bid for Onana, they will need to increase their verbal proposal in order to secure the goalkeeper. A potential offer of approximately €50 million, along with €5 million in add-ons, could potentially sway Inter Milan.

Onana has established himself as one of the top ball-playing goalkeepers in the world, showcasing his ability last season by completing 78% of his passes and delivering six long balls per game.

The 27-year-old is also highly regarded for his commanding presence in the penalty area and his skills as a sweeper-keeper. Onana would represent a significant upgrade over David de Gea.

While United plans to hold discussions with De Gea regarding a contract renewal, it appears unlikely that he would be content with a backup role. Therefore, an extension for De Gea seems highly unlikely.
