Manchester United set Phil Jones’ price tag for January

Phil Jones is arguably one of the most laughed-at footballers in the world, because of his footballing ability and injury record. The English international has found it hard to get game-time with the Red Devils for the last couple of years. It is now being reported by The Sun that Manchester United have set a price tag of about £20m for Jones to leave in the January transfer window.

It was earlier reported that Phil Jones was omitted from the Champions League squad by Solskjaer due to his injury record. In fact, the centre-back is still injured and hasn’t been part of United’s matchday squads for quite a while. But whenever he was playing, he failed to produce the goods as he was consistently beaten on and off the ball which was shocking to see.

It has been reported that the Manchester United board rate Phil Jones at £20m. The high valuation is mainly because of his contract at Old Trafford, which keeps him at the club till 2023. It is very unlikely for any club to pay anywhere near that amount for Phil Jones as he has been injured more often than not.

Manchester United will surely have a tough time getting Phil Jones off their books and have to work very hard to sell him.
