Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso is the target of Manchester United who are hoping to bolster their defense this summer, the Italian publication Tuttojuve reported.
Specifically in defense, the Red Devils intend to make a number of adjustments.
Since Raphael Varane is leaving the team for free, one of the major changes might be the signing of a top-tier center-back.
Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw have both struggled with injuries this season so Manchester United may need to find a new left-back.
Additionally, since Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract expires in 2025 there’s a chance the team will sign a new right-back. To create space for fresh talent he might be sold.
The fact that Aston Villa had previously been connected to Cambiaso has withdrawn from the race makes Manchester United’s interest in him crucial. The 24-year-old former Genoa star is being actively pursued by United.
But Cambiaso is currently regarded by Juventus or the Bianconeri as untransferable and they have no intention of selling him before the transfer window opens.
Manchester United may still attempt to bring Cambiaso to Old Trafford in spite of Juventus stance.

They may suggest a trade involving Mason Greenwood in which case Juventus would be interested.
Both clubs might find this swap attractive. Manchester United might be a great fit for Cambiaso. He can play on either side of the defense because of his versatility.
He played primarily as a wing-back in Serie A last season recording an amazing 88 percent passing accuracy while dishing out six assists and three goals. His offensive prowess fits in perfectly with Erik ten Hags philosophy of emphasizing the full-backs explosive play.
Cambiaso’s outstanding play during the previous season is the reason Juventus is reluctant to sell him.
But the possible trade with Manchester United might make them reconsider.

United would benefit from the trade especially considering their restricted summer spending budget of just £35 million because they won’t be participating in the Champions League the following year.
Finally, Manchester United is eager to bolster their defensive line-up and their top target is Andrea Cambiaso.
Even though Juventus is not currently interested in selling him, Mason Greenwood in a trade could be an alluring offer for the Italian team. This move would not only bolster United’s defense but also work within their financial constraints.
